Help & Safety
Use care when meeting and arranging work directly. NeighborLift provides basic guidance and reporting, not insurance, guaranteed payments or a determination of legal fault.
In an emergency, call 911 first
NeighborLift is not an emergency service and cannot send help. If someone is hurt, unsafe or in immediate danger, contact 911 or your local emergency services right away — then report it here so we can act on the account.
Share only the details the agreed work needs. Never publish private addresses, banking passwords, identity documents or Social Security numbers. Hosted Stripe Identity requests belong only in its secure flow.
Adults only
You must be 18 or older. Keep account information accurate, protect credentials and do not post work for minors.
Actual account checks
Email confirmation, safety training, terms acceptance and administrator eligibility are separate checks, not guarantees. Stripe Identity remains in use; Identity Verified means a genuine Stripe result only, not a background, driving-record, insurance or qualification check. NeighborLift does not verify business licenses or insurance. Customers should check qualifications directly.
Contact and communication
Lifters and businesses apply; the customer chooses an applicant. Stored private contacts go only to the chosen applicant, the poster and authorized administrators, not every applicant. Arrange work and task payment directly by personal phone, email or another agreed method. Do not publish private details in listing descriptions or photos. Keep your own records of direct arrangements.
Posting fees, not task-payment protection
Stripe collects only NeighborLift’s upfront posting fee for new listings: $2 everyday, $5 professional or $3 delivery. Offered worker pay is separate and paid directly. NeighborLift does not collect, hold, transfer or guarantee those payments. Posting fees are nonrefundable subject to applicable law and appropriate billing-error exceptions. Earlier tasks retain their original terms.
Listing status is not completion
The customer’s selection closes new applications. New scheduled listings otherwise expire seven days after their task date/time. Neither selection nor expiration confirms work or payment, and neither person must return to confirm completion. Full date/expiry enforcement and older undated listings still need the coordinated update identified in the policy audit.
Supplies and deliveries
Everyday customers provide needed supplies/equipment; professionals bring tools/equipment and discuss materials and extra costs directly. Both-provider listings depend on the chosen provider. NeighborLift does not reimburse purchases or manage rentals. Food orders must already be placed and paid before posting; the Lifter does not pay restaurants. Junk-removal vehicle/disposal arrangements and delivery base/distance calculations remain unchanged.
Meet safely and avoid scams
Meet in person in a public/shared place when practical, tell someone your plans and trust your judgment. Avoid demands for advance payment from strangers, overpayment checks, suspicious links and requests for passwords or ID images. Leave unsafe situations. Do not assume an account badge or posting-fee payment guarantees safety or task pay.
Report a Problem
Report scams, harassment, inappropriate listings, concerning accounts, technical issues or NeighborLift posting-fee billing. Submit relevant evidence without unnecessary medical details or private information. Moderation does not decide legal fault, provide insurance, guarantee reimbursement or resolve direct customer-to-worker payment disputes. Legal and card-network rights remain available.
Existing reviews
Existing reviews are retained. Choosing an applicant does not verify that work was completed or paid, and ratings are not guarantees of safety, qualifications or performance.
Blocking and privacy
Use available blocking controls to limit future interaction. Blocking does not erase existing transactions, reports or retained records. Keep private information limited to the agreed task.
Prohibited work
Do not post or perform unlawful work, hazardous-material transport, prohibited goods, medical/personal-care tasks or other services restricted by the current Prohibited Services Policy. Businesses remain responsible for legally required qualifications; category selection is not a license. Passenger rides are not currently offered.
